Our family really enjoyed our weekend stay at this lovely property. It was a great mix of rustic and modern/luxirious. There are many outdoor decks and spaces from which to enjoy the great views. The hotel was quite far from the main parl (about 45 minutes), but that was actually another plus for us because we enjoyed the peace and quite more than the bustle and the many cars of the park. The service was also great and very friendly. The food options are limited since there is only 1 restaurant on the property, but they do have a fridge for storing snacks if you decide to bring your own. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this hotel.

Very quiet place!!!! Nice view, service, food! Not far from lake (you can rent a bicycle in the hotel to go there)

What an amazing hidden gem - tucked in at the end of a small road, with no traffic and surrounded by mountains on each side - beautifully decorated and thought out, its a good place to unwind after a stressful few months in Shanghai. Theres a natural water pool in the hotel too, which was good to cool down my legs after a long hike. Our room was at the back which wasnt ideal, so I would recommend booking the mountain view rooms.

My partner and I traveled from Shanghai to escape the concrete jungle for one weekend. i booked the night before but Kathy the manager was very kind and provided clear instructions on which trains to take and arranged for a driver to pick us up from Deqing station. After 2 hour journey we were so happy to arrive at charming hotel nestled at the base of a bamboo forrest.
The owner Sonny was not there this weekend but its clear this project is his labor of love. From theattention to detail in using local Moganshan rocks and bamboo and wood materials to the cosy lounge areas complete with musical instruments, everyaspect was hand selected. my favorite place was the rooftop observation deck, perfect for sunrise yoga （mats are availabletoo）.
The bedroom was very comfortable, we stayed in the second floor with balcony and enjoyed the natural sunlight. The amenities could be improved sich As complimentary coffee （eventhe cheap instant powder）. The food is very expensive and not worth given the low quality. i woukd recommend bringimg some snacks from the area near the train station so that you do not have to pay every meal.
From the hotel there are numerous hiking routes, we hiked Dayangli which allows you to pass through the charming village and meet many friendly locals. there are some dogs that will bark but they will not bite. The hotelhas clearinstructions and itinerariesthatyoucanfollow.
Inshort, i would highly recommend at least one night at Solvang. more than one night may be difficult given the food situation. howevee even with thay added cost we felt the experience was totally worth it.
