Really enjoyed our time here. Location was perfect for what we were looking for. Most destinations were easily accessible by Didi from the hotel. Staff were very friendly and the hotel was lovely. Suggest packing basic snacks (fruit / crackers etc) if you are travelling with smaller children who are still getting a taste for Chinese dishes.

This is a lovely hotel. It's very pretty with nice decorated and well-maintained rooms. The location is perfect too. It also had a good restaurant with excellent food and staff. Additionally, the staff really were that great-proactive, helpful and kind. The manager even arranged a shoe-dryer for me-unprompted-when I came in from the rain.

Wow, this hotel is a hidden treasure! This was our first hotel on our China trip, and what an amazing experience. The hotel is located inside the walled area under The First Pass Under Heaven. Our room was beautiful with a window of the courtyard. You can practice your calligraphy in your room, which is fun. All the staff are fantastic. They are very kind and helpful, and although we couldn't speak Chinese, the staff had a fantastic app that made things easy. Do visit the on-site museum where you can try the arts. The breakfast was Chinese style and delicious. This hotel was perfect! Thank you for having us.

A hidden gem at the end of the Great Wall! We would gladly come back and stay in the summertime.

Awesome hotel with a great view from the window, also the caligraphy school inside the complex with the famous jewelry etc is really cool. More a museam than a hotel its a fantastic place to start the exploration of Shanhaiguan

Could not recommend this hotel more - fabulous location, extremely clean rooms and very welcoming employees. It was great to be able to practice calligraphy in the comfort of your room (they had a complimentary calligraphy set in each room).
The calligraphy museum next door was a real treat!They offered a range of interactive activities from Lino printing to etching on pottery.

very good hotel but breakfast starts too late missed breakfast two times 7.30 start is too late should be 6.30am

Location is fantastic inside the old walled city and only 50m to the entrance of 天下第一关。
It's a very modern hotel on the inside and traditional on the outside. Excellent beautiful rooms and comfortable bedding.They do offer onsite meals and the food is excellent.
The staff are also very polite and they opened the doors as we stepped into the main hall everytime and they were also very attentive as when we could not find the kettle in the room as we asked on our way out, the staff male sure they walked us to our room as we returned and showed us where was the kettle hidden.
Such level of service in a small town puts many 5 or 6 stars hotel to shame.
