  It is a very nice cozy hotel at a very strategic location. Surrounded by food store, market, supermarket and just next to the Taitung Night Market (same row with less than 5 mins walk)

  The reason why I am disappointed with their service is solely because I had high expectations having read earlier reviews. I find the receptionist indifferent upon greeting me, was condescending while ‘explaining’ things with me, extremely disrespectful through my check-in process. It is a hostel, with a 2*2 meter space. And I paid what I got. No frills, which is fine. But that attitude at check-in… that’s overselling this whole ‘unique Taitong local wholesomeness’.

  Hotel is new & tastefully furbished. Love the basement Common lounge where guests can come together to eat, drink, read, watch movies or just relax. Room is also very comfortable, except lights are a little dim and there is no TV. Understand it's an intentional move by hotel management not to provide TV in room as they want guests to enjoy Taitung to the fullest & not stay in the room to watch TV. So need to get used to this if you want to stay here :)

  Norden Ruder hostel is much better than many known hotels. So far this is the best accommodation I have during my Taiwan trip. Highly recommended.

  Although the rooms are small, but they are cozy, nice and clean!!! Located at the heart of Taitung city, and walking distance to street food, fresh market and supermarkets. There’s also night market in the area over the weekend.
