We decided to stay at this hotel for three nights after reading what seemed like positive reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the very beginning. The hotel is located on the third floor of a run-down shopping mall, although the check-in lobby is on the ground floor, which immediately gave off a poor impression.
At check-in, the receptionist was arrogant and assigned me a room in Zone C with a balcony. The room was much smaller than expected, and the balcony was tiny and insecure — it felt unsafe because people from the neighboring room could easily climb over. To make matters worse, the noise level at night was unbearable. There is a KTV bar downstairs, and the singing continued until 2 AM, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. I wonder why the property owner hasn’t complained to urban management about this issue.
We also had issues with the so called smart toilet which wouldn’t flush properly and the water in the bathroom isn't flowing, as if something is clogged. When we reported it, the staff blamed me had thrown tissues inside — an insulting and condescending assumption. After some persistence, another receptionist finally agreed to move us to Zone D. This room was the right size, but it came with its own problem: the sink had a foul smell that lingered throughout the stay. The maintenance man provided a manual essential oil diffuser, but it didn’t help. The bedsheets also had hair from a previous guest, though the cleaner did come to change them after we complained. Thanks to this friendly cleaner, the issue was resolved quickly. Breakfast was another disappointment and the kitchen staff were unfriendly and impatient. They seemed unhappy with their jobs, which reflected in both their attitude and the service.
On a positive note, the daytime security guard in the lobby and the maintenance staff were friendly and helpful, which was a refreshing contrast to one of the check-in staff members and the kitchen staff. The hotel’s location is also convenient, being within walking distance of the subway station.
I’ve noticed that many run-down shopping malls now house these so-called “hotels,” and this one fits that pattern. While the price may be lower, the overall experience is not worth the savings. It’s far better to spend a little more money and stay at a reputable chain hotel where standards are consistent and basic comfort is guaranteed
