A nice place in the new part of the city. Has a good breakfast but they have set the coffee machines up wrong. The cups are small and even then everything comes out espresso size.

We stayed at Sofitel Xining for a total of four nights, and our experience was exceptional from start to finish. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are modern and spacious, and the facilities (pool, gym, executive lounge) are world-class — but what truly made the difference was the incredible hospitality.
A very special thank you to Lucy and Mia at the front desk. Their warm welcome, kindness, and proactive support made us feel genuinely cared for. They went above and beyond to help us during our stay — from arranging transportation to providing great local recommendations. Their professionalism combined with their friendliness made every interaction a pleasure.
We also want to thank Jenny, the Staff Manager, for her attention to detail and personal care. She checked on us several times to make sure everything was perfect, and we felt truly valued as guests.
It’s rare to experience this level of service — we felt more like friends than hotel guests.
Highly recommended. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Xining.

We started our final China trip form ürümqi followed by Turpin and Dunhuang. While our hotels there were reasonable, we felt really comfortable when we stayed at at a Club floor room at Sofitel Xining. Their service was one of the best we have experienced during our seven China trips so far. We enjoyed the comfort and the staff’s dedicated service. Thank you.

Great location walking distance to lots of restaurants and malls. Take a walk along the river park when the city vibe gets too hectic. Helpful staff. Could I get a club sandwich and fries at the bar area? Not easily anyway.

The hotel location is convenient to a few shopping malls and eateries. Staff were very friendly and went extra mile to extend our check out until 4pm when we told them our train to Lhasa was at 9pm. The lobby staff even helped us with ******* delivery.

Great location, right in the city centre, 5 minutes to the Wanda Shopping Mall, a new hypermarket just open at Level 2. The room is bright and very spacious.

Very beautiful Christmas decorations at the hotel lobby, but the room seems dated. There was background noise in the room the whole night; if you are a light sleeper like me, it may be a problem. The breakfast was ok, but it was slightly disappointing that there was no coffee machine.
